 Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has shared a viral AI version of Sholay, which reimagines Robert De Niro in Amitabh Bachchan's role of Jai and Al Pacino as Dharmendra's Veeru. Not only this, Julia Roberts is a total delight as Basanti, while Jack Nicholson also looks impressive as Gabbar and Kevin Spacey as Thakur Baldev Singh, respectively.

Sharing the video, Ram Gopal Varma tweeted, "What if Robert De Niro played Amitabh Bachchan, Al Pacino played Dharmendra, Julia Roberts played Hema Malini, Kevin Spacey played Sanjeev Kumar and Jack Nicholson played Gabbar in SHOLAY??? Artificial intelligence is just KILLING it."

Fans loved the Sholay casting and the video. A fan reacted, “Julia Roberts is cute.” Another called it “great”. One more wrote, “Perfect casting though.” A Twitter user, however, called it ‘super scary’. A fan also said, “Yes, it is killing pure art.”

Ram Gopal Varma once adapted Sholay for Aag

Ram Gopal Varma is known for directing films like Nishabd, Sarkar, Bhoot, Company, Jungle, Satya and Rangeela. He once also made an adaptation of Sholay and gave it the title Aag, which was popularly called Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag. The 2007 film had Amitabh Bachchan, Mohanlal, Ajay Devgan, Prashant Raj, Sushmita Sen and many others among the starcast but was heavily criticised by the critics and the audience.

The original Sholay was directed by Ramesh Sippy and written by Salim-Javed (Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar). Amitabh Bachchan played Jai and Dharmendra played Veeru in Sholay. Sanjeev Kumar played Thakur while Jaya Bachchan played his widowed daughter-in-law Radha. Hema Malini was a riot as a tonga-rider Basanti and Amjad Khan was in the role of the lead antagonist, Gabbar. RD Burman had composed music for the film. It is widely regarded as one of the greatest and most influential Indian film of all time.

Sholay however, was a flop upon its release but slowly caught momentum. Salim Khan once told Glamsham in an interview, "Yes it is true when the movie was released Bollywood trade pundits had written off the movie. In fact a series of analytical articles probing the reasons behind the failure of the movie were also published in trade magazines!”

Kangana Ranaut calls Ralia wedding fake, claims Ranbir Kapoor ‘begged’ to meet her?

 Kangana Ranaut called out Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s wedding. Without naming them, she hinted that the wedding is fake and the two stay on separate floors. She claims that Ranbir faces pressure from Alia’s father Mahesh Bhatt and thus, even if wants to get out of the wedding, he cannot.

The rumours began after Alia Bhatt and Ranbir-Alia’s daughter Raha went missing from a recent vacation. Soon after, Neetu Kapoor shared a cryptic post on family.

“The reason why our families are not the same anymore is because we buried the ones who used to keep the family together,” he Instagram story read. Soon after, Kangana joined in.

She claims that the ‘fake’ husband-wife duo ‘pretend’ to be a couple and are spreading false news about movie announcements. ‘No one wrote about how the wife and daughter were excluded from a recent family trip, while the so-called husband was texting me, begging and pleading to meet him... This fake couple needs to be exposed,” she penned in her note.

The actress further claims that the couple got married for movie promotions/money/work and not for love. According to her, the (yet unnamed) actor was promised a trilogy to marry his daughter (referred to as ‘papa ki pari’ in the post). Kangana further adds that the movie is scrapped and now, the husband (which appears to be a hint at Ranbir) is trying to break free from the wedding.

“Unfortunately, there are no takers for him now... He should focus on his wife and daughter... In India, once you're married, there's no turning back... Rectify yourself,” she posted.

 Mahesh Babu and wife Namrata Shirodkar have shared sweet birthday wishes for daughter Sitara Ghattamaneni on her 11th birthday. They have also unveiled a short film from her recent photoshoot for a jewellery brand of which she is a brand ambassador. Meanwhile, Sitara marked her birthday by distributing cycles to school-going girls, encouraging them to go to school.

Namrata Shirodkar wrote another picture of Sitara in a green saree and jewellery from the same shoot and wrote on her Instagram page, “Another year older, but always my baby girl. Today is all about celebrating you and the happiness you bring to our lives. Happy birthday my little star @sitaraghattamaneni!! Love you to the moon and back.”

A day before, Mahesh also unveiled a short film titled Princess based on the photo shoot and captioned it, “Can't be more proud of this incredibly beautiful talent @sitaraghattamaneni.” The film shows Sitara as a modern girl, whisked away to a jewellery store by her grandmother to buy jewellery for her half saree ceremony (celebration of a girl reaching puberty) and then eventually turning into a princess by wearing stunning jewellery.

Sitara also distributed cycles to school-going girls as part of her birthday pre-celebrations. She wrote along with a video of Sitara with the girls, “Little girls happy with their new ride. Now school is just a bicycle away!! Love you our little one for your thoughtfulness and a large heart filled with love. May you make many more such meaningful memories along your glorious journey!! When Sitara's pictures were displayed at Times Square

Earlier this month, Sitara's ad for the jewellery brand was displayed at the Times Square in New York. The 11-year-old as well as both Mahesh and Namrata had shared pictures from the day on Instagram. Sharing a glimpse of the Times Square with Sitara's picture on a display, Mahesh had written, “Lighting up the Times Square!! So so proud of you my fire cracker. Continue to dazzle and shine!! @sitaraghattamaneni.”

Mahesh Babu and Namrata tied the knot in 2005. The couple also have a 16-year-old son Gautam. Sitara made her acting debut with Mahesh Babu's Sarkaru Vaari Paata last year.

The Bawaal screening on Tuesday was a star-studded affair with not just families of the lead actors Janhvi Kapoor and Varun Dhawan joining them but several of their industry colleagues also attending the do. Janhvi's sister Khushi Kapoor gave her quite a competition as she looked stunning in a white dress. Varun's wife Natasha Dalal also made a glamorous appearance in a short silver dress.

Varun Dhawan was joined by his wife Natasha Dalal, brother Rohit Dhawan and parents, David Dhawan and Karuna Dhawan at the Bawaal screening. Director Nitesh Tiwari also arrived with filmmaker wife Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari and their two kids.

Bawaal has Varun playing a history teacher Ajay who takes his wife (Janhvi) on a honeymoon to Europe to visit World War 2 sites. The trailer left many guessing with a glimpse of the holocaust scene while Janhvi's character talks about “the war within”. The songs Tumhe Kitna Pyaar Karte, Dil Se Dil Tak and Dilon Ki Doriyan have been unveiled from the film.

The film has been shot in Paris, Berlin, Poland, Amsterdam, Krakow, Warsaw and in India. The film's crew had more than 700 people with action directors and stuntmen hired from Germany. It will be streaming on Amazon Prime Video July 21 onwards.
