The country marks its 77th Independence Day today, August 15, with pomp and fervour. Today, we celebrate 76 years of freedom from the British Raj. Celebrities mark 77th Independence Day

Anushka Sharma wished her followers Happy Independence Day by posting a clip featuring the melodious tune of Vande Mataram. Check out the screengrab of her post below.

Kiara Advani marked Independence Day by sharing a video of herself with the BSF (Border Security Force). “Happy Independence Day my fellow countrymen. While every year our hearts swell with pride on this day remembering all the brave hearts of India, this year my experience was personal and one that I will cherish forever,” she captioned the clip.

Anupam Kher posted a video featuring the Indian National flag and narrated the history of the Tricolour. He tweeted in Hindi, which translated into English, reads, “I am Tricolour...I often think that if ever our Tricolour gets a chance to express its feelings to the countrymen, what will the Tricolour say to us? On the auspicious occasion of Independence Day, in this video, I have tried to address the countrymen on behalf of our national flag! See and share! Happy Independence Day to all Indians! Jai Hind! Long live Mother India.”

Malaika Arora wished her fans by sharing a picture of the Indian Tricolour on her Instagram stories with the text "77th" written on it. She captioned the photo, "Happy Independence Day." Whereas, Ananya Panday shared a video with the song Vande Mataram on Instagram. It features the text "Swatantra Diwas Ki Hardik Shubkamnayein. Jai Hind," and drawings depicting the diverse culture of India.

Deepika Padukone, Hrithik Roshan and Anil Kapoor celebrated the 77th Independence Day in a special way. The trio star in the upcoming Siddharth Anand film Fighter. To mark Independence Day, they released the teaser of Fighter and wished fans a "Happy Independence Day." The film will release on the eve of the 75th Republic Day (January 25, 2024).

Raveena Tandon tweeted a picture of herself on Twitter with the caption, "[Prayer and heart emojis] Dil Hai Hindustani." The photo shows Raveena dressed in yellow ethnic attire, posing while saluting. The photo's backdrop is in Tricolour shades and features the text “Happy Independence Day.”

Sharvari Wagh wished her fans by sharing a video featuring the Indian National Flag and the three colours of the Tricolour with the caption, “Happy Independence Day.”

Fighter first look: Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone and Anil Kapoor soar their way to glory!

Yesterday, we had reported that the eagerly awaited first look of the Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone starrer ‘Fighter’ would be unveiled today at 10 am. Well, so, here we are bringing you the first look of the much-awaited film. The film’s first look was shared by Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone and Anil kapoor on their respective social media handles. 

After sharing the first look of the film, Hrithik Roshan captioned it stating, “#SpiritOfFighter | Vande Mataram! IN See you in the theaters on the eve of India’s 75th Republic Day. Talking about the film ‘Fighter’s first look, this definitely has raised the curiosity by notches. The film’s first look has Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone soaring their way into the hearts of the audience. This is India's first ever aerial action genre film. While Hrithik Roshan looks dapper in his suit of a fighter pilot, ditto for Deepika Padukone and Anil Kapoor. The background music of 'Sujalaam sufalaaam' is defintely bound to give you the goosebumps. 

Not just Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone, everyone who is associated with the film is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that the film turns out to be a goldmine at the box office. A few months ago, Anil Kapoor had taken to social media and shared a video in which he was seen working out shirtless in an extremely cold temperature zone. Anil Kapoor, showed a thumbs-up sign whilst he was jumping and jogging. He had even captioned the post stating, “Naughty at 40 ka time gaya...its time to be Sexy at 60...#fightermodeon”. Besides this, he had posted yet another video in which he was seen jogging running on the treadmill wearing an oxygen mask, and had captioned the post as ‘#Fighter Mode On’.

Looking back, the film’s director Siddharth Anand had released his Shah Rukh Khan starrer film ‘Pathaan’ last year around Republic Day. The film eventually went onto become an all-time blockbuster. With his film ‘Fighter’ also being scheduled to be released on January 25, 2024, what remains to be seen is will the lady luck shine on Siddharth Anand this time too. Let’s just wait and watch!

Besides Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone and Anil Kapoor, the film also stars Karan Singh Grover, Talaz Aziz (who will be seen in the role of Hrithik Roshan's father) and Akshay Oberoi in important roles. The film has been scheduled to be released on January 25, 2024.

Rana Daggubati apologises to Sonam Kapoor for saying she wasted Dulquer Salman's time on The Zoya Factor

Actor Rana Daggubati regrets the negativity that Sonam Kapoor is facing after his recent comment. At an event in Hyderabad, Rana did not name, Sonam but said that a ‘Bollywood heroine’ wasted actor Dulquer Salman's time on sets of their film. Sonam and Dulquer worked together on The Zoya Factor.

Now, in a fresh tweet, Rana clarified his comments and even apologised to Sonam and Dulquer. “I am genuinely troubled by the negativity that has been aimed at Sonam due to my comments, that are totally untrue and were meant entirely in a light-hearted manner. As friends, we often exchange playful banter, and I deeply regret that my words have been misinterpreted,” he said.

He added, "I take this opportunity to express my heartfelt apologies to Sonam and Dulquer, both of whom I hold in great esteem. I hope this clarification puts an end to any speculation and misunderstanding. Thank you for your understanding."

What Rana actually said

At a pre-release event for King of Kotha, Pinkvilla reported Rana as saying, “Dulquer was my junior at acting school. We became friends there. He is a very polite person. He’s doing a Hindi movie and the producers are my friends. The shoot was happening near my house. I went there to meet Dulquer."

He continued, "While he was standing in the corner with the spot boy, a big Hindi heroine who was doing that movie was engrossed in a phone conversation about shopping in London with her husband. Her lack of focus affected the shots’ quality, frustrating those on set. Despite the disruptions caused by the situation, Dulquer remained patient and understanding, defusing tension and maintaining a harmonious environment.” But Rana was too upset and confronted the film's producers about the same.

The Zoya Factor release in 2019 and was not well received by either critics or audiences. Sonam was last seen in Blind, Dulquer will be next seen in Guns and Gulabs and King of Kotha. Rana will produce multi-lingual film Kaantha with Dulquer.

Keeping the Indian tricolour close to her heart in the form of a dupatta, actor Sara Ali Khan, 28, represents the youth of India — aware, educated, confident — as we chat with her after an exclusive Independence Day photoshoot. “India is a democracy and the first step is recognising that you should always have the freedom of choice. That, for me, is at the heart of independence. As a youth of this country, I want the freedom to choose what I want. I feel everyone’s opinion should be respected,” she says.

Are if we, as a society, are there yet, or are somewhere close, and she responds, “I don’t think it (freedom of choice and opinion) is a destination; it is a journey. You can always grow and have more equality, more diversity and more respect.”

WHAT DO WE NEED INDEPENDENCE FROM?

“Judgement,” says Khan, adding, “I am a female actor and I believe we have come a long way, but still have a long way to go. From judging women to actors, there’s always so much judgement in our country. I would like independence from these stereotypes.”

Khan will be seen essaying the role of a freedom fighter in the upcoming film Ae Watan Mere Watan. “I just finished shooting for the film. There are so many facets of our Indian history, especially the freedom struggle, which we don’t understand. It is not just the freedom fighters we may not know about, it was a generation of sacrifice, bravery and constant endeavour. It is not just one day. I feel 365 days are too less to celebrate and be thankful and grateful for what we have as a country today,” she ends

Jawan song Chaleya: Shah Rukh Khan, Nayanthara's romance is so fresh. Watch

Actor Shah Rukh Khan on Monday unveiled the much-awaited romantic song Chaleya from his upcoming action thriller film Jawan. This is the second song from the film after Zinda Banda. Taking to Instagram, Shah Rukh posted the video.

Chaleya has also been released as Chalona and Hayyoda. The Hindi version of the romantic track has been sung by Arijit Singh and Shilpa Rao. It is choreographed by Farah Khan and written by Kumaar.

During an Ask Me Anything session on Twitter recently, Shah Rukh revealed his favourite song from the film. He wrote, “My favourite song is Chaleya from the film. Romantic and sweet and gentle….just like me. @anirudhofficial has excelled. #Jawan.”

Jawan clips posted online

Recently, Shah Rukh's production company Red Chillies Entertainment made a police complaint in Mumbai after unauthorised video clips from Jawan were posted on social media. Mumbai Police has registered a case at Santacruz Police station under IPC section 379 and IT Act as Jawan's clip was stolen and used on social media on Thursday. “Mumbai police are investigating further the matter further,” said Mumbai Police as quoted by news agency ANI.

Directed by Atlee, Jawan will release worldwide in theatres on September 7, 2023, in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages. Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi will be seen with Shah Rukh in the film. Deepika Padukone also has a special appearance in the movie. Nayanthara will be seen playing a role of a cop. In Jawan, fans will also see Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra and Ridhi Dogra in important roles.

Jawan is Shah Rukh's second release of 2023 after Pathaan, which broke several box office records and turned out to be the biggest hit of his career so far. Pathaan was released after Shah Rukh's four-year-long hiatus from films. He will also be seen in director Rajkumar Hirani’s upcoming film Dunki opposite Taapsee Pannu. Varun Dhawan’s Bhediya finally out, Vidyut Jammwal’s IB 71 replaces the film among top theatrical releases on OTT

The list of top theatrical releases on OTT is out. Varun Dhawan’s Bhediya is out this week and instead, Vidyut Jammwal’s IB 71 made a re-entry. Salman Khan’s Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan continues to stay on the list too.

Every thing has changed with the theatrical release on OTT this week. Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, which was ruling at the top spot, has now fallen to the second spot.

Ormax Media has unveiled a list of the top theatrical releases on OTT. The list is for the week of August 4-10.

The Hollywood film was much loved even when it released in theatres. Guardians Of The Galaxy 3 brought about a change in the fate of Marvel films, since this movie came as a breath of fresh air in times where Marvel movies failed to perform.

Thanks to Guardians Of The Galaxy 3 taking the top spot, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan is the second most loved theatrical release on OTT. The Eid release has worked on OTT way better than it did in theatres and the proof of it is its continuous existence on the list.

Meanwhile, Vidyut Jammwal’s IB 71 re-entered the list and left a powerful statement. It replaced Varun Dhawan’s Bhediya and became the third most loved movie of the week.
