Salaar release date: Prabhas' much-awaited next to debut in theatres on this new date?

The news of Salaar's postponement has surely come as a huge shocker to movie buffs across India. The stage seemed perfectly set for the film to arrive in cinemas on September 28 with the trailer expected to drop in the first week of the same month. However, owing to certain constraints that are yet to be disclosed by Prashanth Neel & Co. it emerged only a couple of days ago that the makers are no longer in the position to release the film as planned. 

Of course, many would know that this is the second deferral on the release date as back in 2021, the team announced that the film would release on April 14, 2022. That particular slot would then be taken up by KGF 2, which went on to be a monumental success for not just Yash but also Hombale Films and writer-director Prashanth Neel. 

At the time, the makers hadn't billed Salaar as a two-part film and the same speculations began to surface only much later, until the recently-released teaser confirmed the same. The first part of the Prabhas starrer is titled 'Ceasefire' and was scheduled to release on September 28 with the second part expected to go on floors sometime in early 2024.

So, what's the latest Salaar release date? According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, who broke the news recently, the team is now aiming for a November 2023 release but the exact date isn't finalized yet. Hombale Films, who still haven't made a formal announcement about the postponement, have remained mum thus far but the latest reports, in this vein, suggest that the last Friday of November could be the new chosen date. 

A popular Telugu media outlet writes that Hombale Films could bring the film out in theatres on November 24. Again, neither the production house, Prashanth Neel nor Prabhas have spoken about this change in plans yet. 

Salaar also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan, Sriya Reddy, Jagapathi Babu, Pramod Panju, Easwari Rao and several others. Prashanth Neel's regular collaborators - cinematographer Bhuvan Gowda, music composer Ravi Basrur and art director Shivakumar - return to handle their respective duties.

Priyanka Chopra is elated and proud of the Indian Space Research Organisation(ISRO) after they successfully landed Chandrayaan-3 on the south pole of the moon. As the world celebrated India's victory in space, Priyanka joined them to congratulate the ISRO scientists. 

She shared pictures from the moon and wrote on her Instagram Stories, "India on the moon.#proud. Congratulations to the brilliant minds @ISRO for making the Chandrayaan 2 such a success."

Chandrayaan 3

After it landed successfully on the south pole of the moon Wednesday evening, Chandrayaan 3 waited for the lunar dust to settle down and started to roll out Pragyan rover. The landing took place after a 40-day journey which began from the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota.

This makes India the fourth country – after the US, China, and Russia – to have successfully landed on the moon’s surface. India is now the first to touchdown on the south pole of moon.

Priyanka and Gadar 2

Priyanka recently congratulated Anil Sharma for the success of his latest film, Gadar 2. She sent him a handwritten letter and flowers for the occasion. From the comedy drama Dream Girl 2 to the hard hitting film, Akelli, let's take a look at all the theatrical releases on this Friday. 

After the success of te first film, Dream Girl, makers are back with the sequel. Dream Girl 2 is directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa and stars Ananya Panday, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Vijay Raaz, and Manjot Singh in addition to Ayushmann Khurana in his well-known role as Dream Girl. Manoj Joshi, Asrani, Seema Pahwa, and Annu Kapoor all had significant parts. In the 'Dream Girl' sequel, Ayushmann will appear in a different avatar. 

Akelli:

Akelli starring Nushrratt Bharuccha is about an Indian girl who is stranded in war-torn Iraq and struggles to survive. Nushrratt will appear in a never-before-seen persona, and this could end up being her most audacious part to yet, according to the trailer. Pranay Meshram, a debutant director, gets behind the camera for "Akelli." In addition to Vicky Sidana and Shashant Shah, it is produced by Nitin Vaidya, Ninad Vaidya, and Aparna Padgaonkar. The movie will release on August 18 in theatres.

King Of Kotha:

The plot of King Of Kotha revolves around Raju (Dulquer Salmaan), the gangster. The focus of the film is the town of Kotha, its residents, and Raju's rise to power as a gangster. But with success comes failure, and it appears that his own people are responsible for the treachery. The remainder of the story is what drives Raju to return to Kotha. The film is directed by Abhilash Joshiy. Apart from Dulquer, the film also stars Prasanna, Shabeer Kalarakkal, Gokul Suresh, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Nyla Usha, Chemban Vinod Jose, Shanthi Krishna, Anikha Surendran, Shammi Thilakan, TG Ravi and Sudhi Koppa. 

Goldfish:

Anamika played by Kalki Koechlin, the offspring of a mixed-race marriage, goes to see her estranged mother Sadhana played by Deepti Naval, who is starting to show signs of dementia. Ana visits a location she rarely remembers and encounters a woman who occasionally isn't familiar with her. The film's synopsis states, "With help from a neighbourhood and a past she has shunned, a young woman returns home to deal with her mother's dementia and the scars of her childhood.

Last year, at the 68th National Film Awards, it was Ajay Devgn and Suriya who had won the Best Actor award for their performances in Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior and Soororai Pottru respectively. Suriya's co-star Aparna Balamurali had won the Best Actress as well. Soororai Poottru also won the National Award for Best Feature Film.

Who will win?

Meanwhile, for this year's awards, several names from Bollywood are also doing the rounds in the predictions. Chief among them are for Best Actress, where Alia Bhatt and Kangana Ranaut's names are being considered for their turns in Gangubai Kathiawadi (2022) and Thalaivii (2021) respectively. Kangana is already a multiple National Award-winning actor, having won for one for Supporting Actress for Fashion (2008), and three for Best Actress, for the films Queen (2014), Tanu Weds Manu Returns (2015), and Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi (2019) as well as Panga (2020) respectively. Alia, on the other hand, recently won the Filmfare Award for Best Actress for Gangubai Kathiawadi.

On the other hand, SS Rajamouli's RRR is also eyeing major victory at the National Awards. Stars Ram Charan and Jr NTR are also in the run. RRR scored major international awards glory and had a dream run to the Oscars last month. The song 'Naatu Naatu' became the first song from an Indian production to win the Oscar for composer MM Keeravani and lyricist Chandrabose in the Best Original Song category. It competed with nominees that included Rihanna's Lift Me Up from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, This Is A Life from Everything Everywhere All at Once, Applause from Tell It Like a Woman, and Lady Gaga's Hold My Hand from Top Gun: Maverick.

Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha Starrer Kushi is ready to entertain families

Kareena Kapoor excited to watch Chandrayaan-3’s landing on the moon with her 'boys' Jeh and Taimur

Actor Kareena Kapoor is among the proud Indians who await the historic moment of Chandrayaan 3's landing on the moon. Chandrayaan-3 is set to land on the moon on August 23, 2023, around 18:04 hours IST, as per news agency ANI. Kareena said she is planning to watch the landing with her sons, Jehangir Ali Khan and Taimur Ali Khan.

Talking to the media at an event, Kareena said, as per ANI, “It's a great and proud moment for India and all the Indians. You feel that pride in your heart. As Indians, all of us right now, are waiting to watch it. A lot of people are going to be glued to watching it. I am going to be doing that with my boys as well, with bated breath.”

Kareena Kapoor is married to Saif Ali Khan since 2012. The couple had Taimur, their firstborn, in 2016. Their younger son Jeh was born in 2021.

Chandrayaan-3

Meanwhile, the Chandrayaan-3 mission was launched by Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on July 14. The spacecraft was launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Andhra Pradesh’s Sriharikota. The Chandrayaan-3's Vikram Lander may create history for India by landing on the lunar south pole if all goes well.

The live landing will be available on the ISRO website, its YouTube channel, Facebook, and public broadcaster DD National TV from 17:27 IST on Aug 23, 2023 for viewers. Earlier today, ISRO released images of the lunar far side area captured by the Lander Hazard Detection and Avoidance Camera (LHDAC).
