"Step into the world of Heeramandi… where courtesans were once queens," this is how we were introduced to the SLB directorial. The star-studded cast of Heeramandi includes Aditi Rao Hydari, Sonakshi Sinha, Sanjeeda Shaikh, Sharmin Sehgal, Manisha Koirala, and Richa Chadha. The first look of Heeramandi is all about grand sets, elegance, and some violence.

A while ago, Netflix dropped the first look of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar on Instagram. While sharing the glimpse, the OTT giant mentioned, "Here’s your first look at legendary Indian creator Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s first series EVER: Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar! (sic)."

As per the official synopsis of Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, the Sanjay Leela Bhansali series is set in the pre-independent India era. Amidst the power of struggle in Heeramandi, a young heir, caught in the crossfire, chooses love over succession. Set in the pre-independence era against a freedom movement, the final thread of courtesans is put to the test.

Having said that, the series is also a mixture of art, culture, beauty, and of course Sanjay Leela Bhansali's legacy.

The concept of Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar is by Moin Beg. Sanjay Leela Bhansali serves as the creator, director, and co-producer of his first web series. This Netflix show is also produced by Prerna Singh. While the official release date is not announced yet, the makers have revealed that Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar will drop on the OTT platform this year itself.

Actor Parineeti Chopra announced last week that she is officially making a foray into music as a singer. She recently conducted her first concert in Mumbai. Now, her husband, Raghav Chadha, has taken to his Instagram to pen a heartfelt note for his 'own personal melody queen' as she begins her new journey as a singer.

He wrote in the caption, "My rock star, my nightingale, my own personal melody queen - as a trained classical singer with music in your soul—you breathe life into lyrics, Paru! I’m totally in awe (and so excited) as you finally step onto this new path you’ve been longing to tread since so long. Go ahead and rock the world, my girl! I’m always gonna be here; rooting for you and cheering you on."

In the last line of the caption, he added, "PS: Finally the world will get to see the free concerts I get at home everyday. Haha"

Raghav had earlier called Parineeti on a video call as she was preparing for her performance. Parineeti had shared the video on her Instagram post, where she was seen talking to Raghav. "The only thing I want to say is that you have my blessing," he said on the call, to which she giggled.

Earlier, Parineeti had announced the beginning of her journey as a singer on Instagram. "I feel so lucky, blessed and stressed about starting off a whole new chapter in my life and I honestly can’t describe how excited I am to embark on this musical journey. A journey that gives me the opportunity to have two careers at once! How fun (and chaotic). So here’s to embracing the unknown and facing all my fears and kicking off my singing debut," an excerpt from her caption read. She had sung the track Maana Ke Hum Yaar Nahin for her 2017 movie Meri Pyaari Bindu.

Parineeti was last seen in Mission Raniganj, co-starring Akshay Kumar. She will next appear in filmmaker Imtiaz Ali's Amar Singh Chamkila, which is based on the life of the iconic music star of Punjab from the 1980s.

However, following the call from the Indian PM in December, urging rich and influential families to choose India as the venue for their big life events, Rakul and Jackky reconsidered their original plans and relocated the wedding to India.”

The source also added that this change of plans occurred in mid-December. It meant a complete reset of plans and arrangements, which involved the destination, and accommodations.

Hrithik Roshan is basking in the success of his latest release Fighter. Directed by Siddharth Anand, Fighter stars the actor as Patty aka Squadron Leader Shamsher Pathania in the film. In a new interview with Film Companion, Hrithik opened up about the mixed reviews of the film regarding its politics and said that he does not mind them because it is his director Siddharth Anand’s “conviction”. 

'As an actor I do not cross any lines'

Hrithik said: “I would like to believe that my fans and my audience who come to watch my films are a bit more evolved and they would not need lines like these. That is a weight that I bear. As an actor I do not cross any lines. At the same time I admire that Sid (Siddharth Anand) is a very, very headstrong filmmaker. It is his conviction. Sometimes you see somebody that convinced and it kind of breaks your heart to power down and say no. I also bear the weight of that because finally it is my face. But I am very, very happy that it has landed as entertainment and nothing more than that. I am really relieved about that. Having said that, I still bear the weight."

Hrithik on choosing roles

In the same interview, Hrithik also talked about choosing scripts. "If your mission is stardom, and your mission is running that business, and you have that shop that people are liking and you keep selling what they like... That's also okay. I don't enjoy that, I feel suffocated. I think it comes down to why you are doing what you are doing. Why are you doing movies? What are you getting out of it? Is it for money? Then, go ahead man. There are no rules. You are earning the bread for yourself and your family. You go out and you sell yourself and do what it takes. I respect that. But once that need is satisfied... did you still want more? It has got to stop. You have to know what kind of life do you want to live and what is the cost of living that life. I always had that desire in me to find depth, because if you are not finding that what are you doing?"
