 The trailer of Mr & Mrs Mahi is out! Starring Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao in lead roles, the sports drama follows the journey of a newly-wed couple who team up with one mission in their minds: to play the best cricket of their lives. He turns a coach for her, even though their relationship goes through several ups and downs.

The trailer of the sports drama begins with the two leads meeting for the first time ahead of their arranged marriage. Rajkummar Rao's character dreams of playing cricket for the country whereas Janhvi plays a doctor. She also shares a love for cricket even though she does not take it much seriously. After he realizes that he can no longer pursue his dream of becoming a cricketer, he decides to coach Janhvi Kapoor's character.

The trailer gives us brief moments where we see her train hard to become a good cricketer. Some issues develop along the way, where she begins to question the reason why he decided to coach her in the first place. What if she is just a step in for him to realize his worth? It all culminates into a thrilling journey where she gives her best with the help of his training.

Mr & Mrs Mahi is directed by Sharan Sharma, who is known for his directorial debut Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl. Mr & Mrs Mahi marks the second collaboration between Janhvi and Sharan. The film is backed by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions. It releases on May 31.

Case registered against allu arjun for violating poll code of conduct, attending gathering in andhra pradesh: report

 After actor Allu Arjun visited Andhra Pradesh's Nandyala to support MLA Shilpa Ravi Chandra Kishore Reddy, a case was registered against him for allegedly violating the Model Code of Conduct. As per India Today, a case was also filed against Reddy, Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) MLA.

Case against Allu Arjun in Andhra

As per the report, Allu Arjun and Reddy were accused of allowing a large public gathering on Saturday at the latter's residence. This led to a violation of the code of conduct ahead of the Andhra Pradesh elections. The state will go to polls on May 13.

Reportedly, the MLA invited the actor without prior permission to attend the gathering. The FIR was filed for violating Section 144, which has been imposed in Andhra Pradesh. Deputy Tehsildar P Ramachandra Rao from Nandyala Rural registered the case.

Allu Arjun had said why he went to Nandyala

After meeting Reddy at his residence on Saturday, Allu Arjun shared why he visited Nandyala. As per the report, he had said, "I came here on my own. Among my friends, in whichever field they are in, I will step up and help them if they need my help. It doesn't mean I am backing or supporting any political party."

 Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s maiden web series Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar on Netflix has received polarising feedback from the audience. One of the leads, Sonakshi Sinha, has now responded to criticism about the series being factually incorrect. Talking to Etimes, the actor pointed out that those who criticise the show might be the ones who also like Bridgerton. 

‘These are the same people who’ll love Bridgerton’

Sonakshi reiterated her response to criticism about Heeramandi, clarifying that the series was not intended to be a ‘history lesson’ but a world of entertainment crafted by SLB.

She stated, “When did we ever promise a history lesson? These are the same people who will love Bridgerton. Yes, Heera Mandi is a place that exists in Lahore, but we never told you we were delving into history. Sanjay Leela Bhansali is an artist; he has created a world for you. It’s a fictionalised version of what was and view it as just entertainment. He’s selling you a dream; it’s what he’s known for.”

Given that she plays two characters - mother and daughter - she says that they ensured to make one character different from the other. Sharing a bunch of pictures, she wrote, “Here are some photos from my look test for the cruelest of them all… Rehana.”

 Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar is shining bright in the OTT world. The web series, starring Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sharmin Segal, and Sanjeeda Shaikh, has emerged as the most-viewed Indian series on streaming giant Netflix. 

The show, which released on May 1, marked its debut as the most-viewed Indian series in its first week of launch.

A hit opening

In fact, the series, which is being lauded for its opulence and grandeur, is trending in the Top 10 chart across 43 countries. When it comes to the Non-English TV List, the series is at the second position. It boasts an ensemble cast also including names such as Fardeen Khan, Taha Shah Badussha, Shekhar Suman, and Adhyayan Suman.

The show raked in 4.5 million views, with 33 million accumulated viewership hours. It is trailing behind The Asunta Case, which has 12 million views in its second week. The show’s number two debut puts it ahead of The Great Indian Kapil Show, which debuted at the number three spot a few weeks ago, with 2.5 million views.

The show marked Sanjay’s entry into the OTT space, and he is glad that his show has been accepted by the audiences.

About the show

The show is set in the backdrop of the Indian independence revolution, with the timeline ranging between 1920 and 1940. The larger than life series showcases the clash between the courtesans of the red-light district of Heera Mandi in Lahore and the officials during the British Raj. Along with the freedom struggle, the show also examines the rivalry between the courtesans, their complex life, and their desire for freedom.
