Allu Arjun Expresses Gratitude to Andhra Pradesh CM for Pushpa 2 Ticket Price Approval

After the Andhra Pradesh government announced a ticket price increase for Pushpa 2: The Rule, actor Allu Arjun expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan for their backing of the Telugu film industry.

In a post on X, Allu Arjun expressed, “I am deeply grateful to the Government of Andhra Pradesh for endorsing the ticket price hike. This forward-thinking move reflects your unwavering dedication to the advancement and success of the Telugu film sector. I also extend my sincere gratitude to Hon'ble @APDeputyCMO, Shri @PawanKalyan garu, for his crucial backing in empowering the film community.”

Record-Breaking Ticket Prices

As reported by India Today, Pushpa 2 has set a new record for the highest ticket prices in Telugu cinema. The premiere screenings are scheduled for December 4 at 9:30 PM in select theaters, with tickets priced at ₹944 (including GST) for both single screens and multiplexes.

The Andhra Pradesh government has sanctioned six daily shows of Pushpa 2 in both types of theaters at prices of ₹324.50 and ₹413, respectively. Additionally, from December 6 to December 17, five shows per day will be permitted at these rates.

In contrast, the Telangana government previously faced backlash for its own ticket price increases for Pushpa 2. In Telangana, tickets are set at ₹1,200 for paid previews, ₹531 for multiplexes, and ₹354 for single screens. A petition challenging this price hike is scheduled to be reviewed by the Telangana High Court today, December 3, just before the film's premiere.

In an interview with News18 Showsha, Vikrant expressed that he is not leaving the industry for good but is feeling "burned out" and needs time off to prioritize his health and family. "I’m not retiring… Just burned out. Need a long break....." he stated.

His comments came after he attended the screening of his latest film, The Sabarmati Report, at the Balayogi Auditorium in Parliament, marking his first public appearance since his viral Instagram post. While he discussed the film—which he screened with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other officials—he avoided addressing questions about his retirement announcement.
