Telangana film industry support - Mobile masala

Telangana's Cabinet Launches Initiative to Support the Film Industry

Telangana's Cabinet Launches Initiative to Support the Film Industry

The Chief Minister, Revanth Reddy, has extended an invitation to the film industry to collaborate in the development of Telangana. In response to the challenges currently facing the film sector, the Telangana government has made a significant decision. A cabinet sub-committee will be established to address these issues, as directed by CM Revanth Reddy. The film industry is also interested in forming its own committee. This cabinet sub-committee will examine various concerns related to the film industry. In the near future, it will compile a report outlining necessary actions for the industry's advancement, guidelines for additional screenings, and potential increases in ticket prices, which will then be presented to the government for further action. Following the Chief Minister's recommendation for the film industry to establish a committee, industry leaders are expected to share their insights with the sub-committee. CM Revanth Reddy emphasized the Congress government's dedication to the growth of the Telugu film industry. On Thursday, notable figures from the film industry, led by FDC Chairman Dil Raju, convened with CM Revanth at the Police Command Control Center in Banjara Hills. During this meeting, Revanth reiterated that the cabinet sub-committee would investigate various issues affecting the film industry and that a report detailing developmental steps would be prepared and submitted to the government. He also highlighted the importance of the industry being socially responsible in the context of Telangana's progress.

The Chief Minister proposed that initiatives should be taken in the areas of drug awareness and women's safety campaigns, as well as the promotion of temple tourism and eco-tourism. Revanth Reddy emphasized that his primary goal in this context is to advance the film industry. He assured that his administration would extend its support to address the industry's challenges. The Chief Minister convened a meeting with film industry representatives on Thursday. During this meeting, he urged the film personalities to embrace social responsibility in contributing to the development of Telangana. Approximately 50 individuals, led by FDC Chairman Dil Raju, attended the gathering at the Police Command Control Center in Banjara Hills, which also included Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka, Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, DGP Jithender, and others. This meeting gained significance following the stampede at Sandhya Theater and the ensuing events related to the arrest of Allu Arjun. At the outset of the meeting, the Chief Minister presented a video concerning the Sandhya Theater incident to the attendees. Subsequently, various film personalities expressed their perspectives to the Chief Minister, who articulated the government's position. He stated, "The government supports the industry. There will be no compromise on law and order. It is the responsibility of celebrities to manage their fans. The industry must act with social responsibility in the development of Telangana. Film personalities should lead efforts to raise awareness about drug control and women's safety. We should also promote temple tourism and eco-tourism. Furthermore, the industry should collaborate in investment opportunities. We will take a serious approach regarding bouncers moving forward," remarked Chief Minister Revanth. Celebrities highlighted the issues facing the film industry, sharing their concerns, misconceptions, and suggestions. The government remains committed to supporting the industry, with the primary aim of fostering its growth. Notably, the government has granted special permissions for eight films and provided police support for the film "Pushpa."

A decision has been made to establish a brand for the Telugu film industry, recognizing its significance alongside the IT and pharmaceutical sectors. The introduction of the Gaddar Award was motivated by the absence of awards in Telangana. To facilitate communication between the government and the industry, Dil Raju has been appointed as the Chairman of the Film Development Corporation (FDC). Additionally, a cabinet sub-committee has been formed to address the challenges faced by the film industry, and it is encouraged that the industry itself also establish a committee. Efforts are underway to attract both Hollywood and Bollywood to Hyderabad, with plans to host major conferences aimed at drawing in other film industries. The establishment of Young India Skills University is intended to enhance employment opportunities, while advanced technology centres will be set up to improve skills and create jobs. The initiatives undertaken for the industry have been historically supported by Congress governments, and this legacy will be upheld. The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of expanding the Telugu industry beyond its regional confines. Subsequently, the Chief Minister communicated via 'X' that he assured film industry figures of the government's commitment to support the sector's growth and address its issues. Nagarjuna remarked that the film industry can only achieve global recognition with substantial government investment, expressing a vision for Hyderabad to become a global cinema hub with world-class studio facilities. Director Trivikram noted that the industry's migration to Hyderabad was facilitated by leaders like Marri Chenna Reddy and Akkineni, and he highlighted the potential for tourism in Telangana, urging the government to host an International Film Festival in Hyderabad. He acknowledged the positive support from previous Chief Ministers and recognized the current government's encouragement. Director Raghavendra Rao expressed his approval of Dil Raju's appointment as FDC chairman, reflecting on his long-standing observation of the industry.

Laapataa Ladies Oscars snub - Mobile masala

India's Laapataa Ladies Excluded from Oscars; Calls for FFI Overhaul Intensify

India's Laapataa Ladies Excluded from Oscars; Calls for FFI Overhaul Intensify

The Academy of Motion Pictures, Arts and Sciences revealed the shortlist of 15 films competing for the Best International Feature Film award at the 2025 Oscars on Tuesday. Although the list included several anticipated titles, such as Emilia Perez and From Ground Zero, India's official submission, Laapataa Ladies, was notably missing. Initial responses to the Hindi film's exclusion from the shortlist, and its lack of a nomination, have been marked by frustration, with numerous online commentators attributing the blame to the Film Federation of India for 'humiliating' the nation.

Internet's anger at FFI

Laapataa Ladies, under the direction of Kiran Rao, was unanimously chosen as India's official submission for the Best International Feature Film category at the Academy Awards earlier this year. This decision sparked some controversy, as many critics argued that Payal Kapadia's Cannes-winning film, All We Imagine As Light, was a more formidable candidate.

Following Laapataa Ladies' inability to make the shortlist, similar sentiments have resurfaced. One tweet on Wednesday morning expressed, "FFI overlooked AWIAL, undermining our chances of being included. The Film Federation of India needs a complete overhaul. Those currently in positions of authority should resign and allow individuals who truly appreciate and understand the art of cinema to take charge."

A different user remarked, “Can you believe what is absent from the Oscars shortlist? This serves as a future lesson for the misguided members of the Film Federation of India committee: an Oscar campaign for your cherished desi film cannot commence in October. All We Imagine As Light had a clear trajectory towards an Oscar nomination.”

Latest update on Prabhas - Mobile masala

Prabhas' The Raja Saab Postponed: Latest Updates on Release Date

Prabhas' The Raja Saab Postponed: Latest Updates on Release Date

Prabhas has been managing several projects throughout his career, one of which is The Raja Saab, directed by Maruthi Dasari on a grand scale. This film, categorized as a horror comedy, is approaching the end of its shooting phase, with an initial release date set for April 10, 2025.

Latest update on Prabhas' The Raja Saab is here

Recent developments regarding The Raja Saab indicate a possible postponement of its release. It has been reported that Prabhas sustained an injury while working on another project, Fauji, in Hyderabad, and he is expected to travel to Germany for medical treatment.

A representative from his team has confirmed that Prabhas will be sidelined for three months, which will inevitably affect the timelines of his current projects, including The Raja Saab. With portions of the film still left to shoot and potential scheduling issues anticipated following Prabhas's recovery, the production team has reportedly opted to delay the film's release.

Siddhu Jonnalagadda's Jack to take The Raja Saab's date

The speculation surrounding this delay intensified when Siddhu Jonnalagadda announced that his upcoming film, Jack, is set to be released on April 10, 2025. Given Prabhas's prominence in the industry, it is unusual for another star to schedule a release on the same date, which indirectly suggests the postponement of The Raja Saab.
