Vicky Kaushal’s Unscripted Tears: ‘Chhaava’ Actor Reveals Intense Scene Had to Be Retaken

Vijay Vikram Singh, who co-starred with Vicky Kaushal in the film Chhaava, recounted an emotional moment during filming when Kaushal began to cry in the midst of a scene. In an interview with India Today, Vijay explained that the scene involved Vicky's character, Sambhaji Maharaj, being proclaimed the next Chhatrapati. Vijay portrayed Peshwa Neelopant in the film.

Vijay remarked, “There was a particular shot where Vicky Kaushal was announced as the next Chhatrapati. In that moment, he advanced forward, followed by Ashutosh Rana, Vineet Kumar, and myself. We had to redo the shot three times because Vicky became emotional and started crying. He was profoundly moved by the significance of stepping into the role of Sambhaji Maharaj as the new Chhatrapati."
