Citadel Honey Bunny and Citadel Diana to Integrate into Main Storyline in Season 2; Release Date Announced
Citadel stands out as one of the most renowned American spy action television series. The cast includes Priyanka Chopra, Richard Madden, Leo Woodall, Stanley Tucci, Lesley Manville, among others. The series has inspired an Italian spinoff named Citadel: Diana and an Indian spinoff called Citadel: Honey Bunny. Recent reports indicate that Amazon Prime Video has decided to cancel these spinoffs as separate series. Instead, their narratives will be integrated into the overarching storyline of Citadel in its second season.
Prime Video cancels Citadel spinoffs
Amazon Prime Video has announced the cancellation of the international spinoffs of Citadel, titled Honey Bunny and Diana, as separate series. Instead, these stories will be integrated into the second season of the original Citadel series, which is set to debut globally in the second quarter of 2026.
Vernon Sanders, the head of television at Amazon MGM Studios, remarked, “Although these popular international installments will not proceed as standalone series, we anticipate that Season 2 of ‘Citadel’ will be our most thrilling installment to date.”
He further added, “With high-stakes storytelling, new additions to our amazing cast and bold, cinematic ambition, the new season will deepen the emotional journeys of Nadia, Mason and Orlick against the relentless force that is Manticore. We’re excited to share what’s next when ‘Citadel’ Season 2 premieres globally in Q2 of 2026.”
