Hridayam Lopala - Mobile masala

Why 'Hridayam Lopala' Was Left Out of Kingdom: Naga Vamsi’s Witty Take on Vijay Deverakonda’s Missing Kiss Scene

The Telugu spy-action drama Kingdom, starring Vijay Deverakonda, has made a thunderous impact at the box office. However, fans are buzzing over the mysterious absence of the viral romantic track "Hridayam Lopala" from the final cut. At a recent press meet in Hyderabad, producer Naga Vamsi tackled the topic with his signature wit, leaving audiences amused and intrigued.

The Hype Around Hridayam Lopala Song in Kingdom

The romantic number "Hridayam Lopala", composed by Anirudh Ravichander, with vocals by Anumita Nadesan and lyrics by Krishna Kanth, had created a viral storm even before the film’s release. Featuring Vijay Deverakonda and Bhagyashri Borse, the song’s music video—complete with a passionate beachside kiss—captured hearts and built massive anticipation.

Vijay himself called it “a moment of softness in an intense world.” With such buildup, fans were surprised—and disappointed—when the song was nowhere to be found in the theatrical version of Kingdom.

Naga Vamsi’s Witty Take on the Missing Kiss Scene

During the July 31 press conference, producer Naga Vamsi addressed the elephant in the room with humor:
“You watched the film, right? Tell me where Hridayam Lopala would even fit.”
He then cheekily added, “I know many lovers felt bad… probably because they wanted to see Vijay Deverakonda kiss.”

Jokes aside, Vamsi clarified that the song, despite being well-loved, did not fit into the film’s narrative pacing—especially in the second half, which was crafted for emotional tension and plot buildup. Including the song would have disrupted the momentum, he explained.

The Tone and Intensity of Kingdom

Directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, Kingdom follows the emotional and political journey of Suri (Vijay Deverakonda)—a constable turned covert spy in war-torn Sri Lanka—as he searches for his missing brother Siva (played by Satyadev). While there is romance with Dr. Anu (Bhagyashri Borse), the film remains focused on action, suspense, and brotherhood rather than love.

Vamsi emphasized that the second half of the film needed narrative gravity, not interruption by a song—even if it was popular.

Fan Reactions and the Cliffhanger Ending

On social media, fans expressed their dismay:

  • “Why hype Hridayam Lopala if it’s not in the movie?”

  • “No kiss, no closure… and now a sequel too?”

The exclusion of the song combined with the cliffhanger ending and announcement of Kingdom Part 2 led to accusations of “sequel fatigue”—a rising sentiment in Tollywood, where stories are being split into multiple installments.

Still, Kingdom raked in an impressive ₹31 crore worldwide on Day 1, and many praised its background score, cinematography, and Vijay's gripping performance.

Will Hridayam Lopala Return in the Sequel or OTT?

Naga Vamsi hinted that "Hridayam Lopala" might be included in the OTT version or a director’s cut, offering hope to fans. He also teased that Bhagyashri Borse will have a bigger arc in Kingdom Part 2, and a “big hero” will play the role of Sethu in the sequel.

“We’re setting Hollywood-level standards,” Vamsi boldly claimed.

Conclusion: Artistic Vision vs. Audience Expectation

The decision to remove Hridayam Lopala from Kingdom reflects the evolving priorities in Telugu cinema—where narrative integrity is starting to outweigh traditional formulas like mandatory romance or item numbers. Naga Vamsi’s humorous response masked a bold storytelling choice that may redefine how commercial films treat fan service.

For now, Vijay Deverakonda fans may have to wait for the kiss they were promised—possibly in Kingdom Part 2 or on OTT.
