The film, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, featured Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, and Priyanka Chopra in key roles. Adapted from Nagnath S. Inamdar's Marathi novel Rau, Bajirao Mastani told the story of Maratha Peshwa Bajirao I (1700–1740) and his second wife, Mastani. This significant moment elicited a response from Ranveer Singh.

Sharing a post on Instagram today, The Academy shared a throwback video of Deepika Padukone dancing to the tunes of Deewani Mastani from the film Bajirao Mastani.

It is worth noting that Deepika and Ranveer were dating each other during the shoot of Bajirao Mastani. Presently, the couple are married to each other and are expecting their first child soon. In February this year, the couple confirmed that Deepika is pregnant with their first child.
