After impressing in a beige-tailored outfit, she changed things up with a breathtaking black embellished set that brought ethnic fashion a touch of glamour. Let’s analyze her look and gather some style inspiration.

Raid 2 movie review - Mobile masala

Raid 2 movie review: Ajay Devgn and Riteish Deshmukh’s face off fares well in parts, weak villain brings film down

Raid 2 movie review: Ajay Devgn and Riteish Deshmukh’s face off fares well in parts, weak villain brings film down

Raid 3 movie review
Cast: Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh, Vaani Kapoor
Director: Raj Kumar Gupta
Star Raring: ★★★

"They are unaware that we are aware they are aware" - no rewards for guessing the source of this quote! For those who aren't familiar, it’s a widely recognized line from the English sitcom FRIENDS. Additionally, it serves as an excellent way to encapsulate actor Ajay Devgn’s newest film Raid 2 - a follow-up to his own 2018 movie with the same title.

This time, the narrative again centers on Amay Patnaik, a principled income tax officer. Accused of soliciting a bribe from a person whose residence he inspects, he is reassigned to Bhoj. There, Dada bhai (Riteish Deshmukh), a local politician, enjoys immense popularity among the public. Amay perceives something off and initiates raids on his home and offices. The events that transpire next constitute the remainder of the tale.

The film starts off promisingly, featuring a twist at nearly every juncture in the first half, keeping the viewers intrigued. Raj Kumar Gupta, recognized for directing thrillers like No One Killed Jessica, maintains a strong hold on the events as they unfold. However, the primary flaw of Raid 2, which takes place in the 1990s, is its dependence on convenience. Amay, our protagonist, continually receives assistance from others with alarming ease. This undermines Riteish's character development as Dada bhai. Reduced to mere contempt, the menacing essence of Dada bhai, despite Riteish's compelling portrayal, feels weakened by Amay's effortless victories. The suspense simmers briefly, only to be extinguished quickly, hindering any significant dramatic escalation.

Retro movie review - Mobile masala

Suriya Elevates Karthik Subbaraj’s Gritty Yet Romantic Throwback

Suriya Elevates Karthik Subbaraj’s Gritty Yet Romantic Throwback

Retro movie plot:

Paarivel Kannan (Suriya) is the foster son of gangster Thilagan (Joju George), who despises him and regards him merely as adequate to serve as his thug. However, when Paari chooses to change his reckless lifestyle, aiming to begin anew with his beloved Rukmini (Pooja Hegde), his aggressive behavior prevents him from finding peace, particularly after he declines to disclose the location of the final delivery task he completes for Thilagan.

Retro movie review:

What if Karthik Subbaraj (who made an impressive debut with Pizza) creates his blockbuster film with Suriya, which takes inspiration from his earlier movie Jigarthanda Double X, incorporates hints of subtle allusions to the actor, while still showcasing his typical quirks and eccentricities, not to overlook the struggle between the oppressed and the oppressor that unfolds in the world of a gangster? Is that a bit overwhelming? Nonetheless, Karthik Subbaraj crafts a somewhat cohesive film that is highly indulgent yet engaging. That essentially sums up Retro for you. It's not suitable for everyone, but Karthik Subbaraj does deliver something. We will discuss that shortly.

The Bhootnii movie review - Mobile masala

Bhootnii Review: A Horror Comedy That Misses Both Laughs and Scares

Bhootnii Review: A Horror Comedy That Misses Both Laughs and Scares

The Bhootnii movie review
Cast: Sanjay Dutt, Mouni Roy, Sunny Singh, Palak Tiwari
Director: Sidhaant Sachdev
Rating: ★★.5

You know what stings a bit? When you notice that flicker in a movie, it surely had the ability to be so much greater. The Bhootnii, featuring Sanjay Dutt as a ghost hunter, alongside Sunny Singh, Palak Tiwari, and Mouni Roy in the main roles - is one of those.

What is The Bhootnii about

It centers around the yearly Virgin Tree pooja (conducted at Hindu College in Delhi, although it is fictional in the film). The tale suggests that anyone who prays to the tree on Valentine’s Day annually will find their ‘mohabbat’. Shantanu (Sunny), a man who is heartbroken after his girlfriend departs, feels desolate and longs for love. Enter Mohabbat — quite literally, in the shape of a ghost by that name (Mouni).

The Bhootnii, penned and helmed by Sidhaant Sachdev, incorporates elements from every horror comedy you have encountered. It particularly takes inspiration from the Stree franchise — featuring an irate ghost, a circle of friends, with humorous one-liners inserted throughout. The creators seize the opportunity to reference Naagin, which is Mouni’s signature role. Before we articulate it ourselves, they already do so with this line from one of the supporting characters, ‘It feels like I’m watching a live shoot of the Naagin serial! ’

HIT 3 Review: Nani Breaks Boundaries in His Most Daring Performance Yet

HIT 3 Review: Nani Breaks Boundaries in His Most Daring Performance Yet

HIT 3 Story

A sequence of killings occurs in different regions of the nation, all adhering to a similar pattern. Enter Arjun Sarkaar (Nani) to crack the case. There's a catch: Arjun needs to carry out a few murders to reveal the crime syndicate responsible for the deaths. Did Arjun Sarkaar make this extreme choice? Who orchestrates the murders? And how does Arjun cope with everything by himself? These inquiries constitute the fundamental storyline of the film.

HIT 3 Review

HIT 3 is the third installment in the HIT franchise, with the initial two parts featuring Vishwak Sen and Adivi Sesh, respectively. Things have escalated to the next level as Nani, the producer of the HIT franchise, takes on the leading role in HIT 3, and he has truly knocked it out of the park. Director Sailesh Kolanu, who most recently directed Saindhav with Venkatsh, who stars in Sankranthiki Vasthunnam, delivers a compelling thriller, and Nani's outstanding performance makes a significant impact.

The core theme of the HIT franchise is straightforward: a psychopath is on the loose, and the police, portrayed by various leads in different segments of the series, attempt to capture them. The same scenario unfolds in HIT 3, but it’s the contemporary Nani who drives things in a big way. The first half of HIT 3 focuses on establishing the premise, while the second half is exclusively devoted to action.
