
Farewell to Pritish Nandy: Kareena Kapoor Remembers Her Chameli Producer
Film producer, writer, and journalist Pritish Nandy passed away at the age of 73 on Wednesday. He was a versatile figure known for his impactful work in journalism, poetry, and Indian cinema. Many Bollywood stars took to social media to honor his memory.

Kareena Kapoor, who appeared in Sudhir Mishra's 2004 movie Chameli, which was produced by Pritish and his daughter Rangita's Pritish Nandy Communications, recently shared some behind-the-scenes snaps from the film on her Instagram Stories. One of the photos shows her smiling and having a chat with Pritish during a break. She looked stunning in her memorable red Chameli outfit. Along with the pictures, Kareena added red heart, folded hands, and infinity emojis.
Sudhir Mishra, the director of Kareena's Chameli, shared a heartfelt tribute on his X account. He remembered the late producer who also supported his 2003 political drama, Hazaaron Khwahishen Aisi. “Pritish Nandy changed my life. Only he could have made Hazaaron Khwahishen Aisi. He taught me so much. I’m really sorry, Pritish Da, that I couldn’t come up with a sequel idea,” Sudhir expressed.
Sanjay Dutt, who appeared in Sanjay Gupta's 2002 action flick Kaante and Leena Yadav's 2005 psychological film Shabd, both produced by Nandy, also took to X to share a black-and-white photo of Pritish. He wrote, “A true creative genius and a kind soul, you will be missed, sir. #PritishNandy 🙏.”
