Farewell to Pritish Nandy: Kareena Kapoor Remembers Her Chameli Producer

Film producer, writer, and journalist Pritish Nandy passed away at the age of 73 on Wednesday. He was a versatile figure known for his impactful work in journalism, poetry, and Indian cinema. Many Bollywood stars took to social media to honor his memory.

Kareena Kapoor, who appeared in Sudhir Mishra's 2004 movie Chameli, which was produced by Pritish and his daughter Rangita's Pritish Nandy Communications, recently shared some behind-the-scenes snaps from the film on her Instagram Stories. One of the photos shows her smiling and having a chat with Pritish during a break. She looked stunning in her memorable red Chameli outfit. Along with the pictures, Kareena added red heart, folded hands, and infinity emojis.

Sudhir Mishra, the director of Kareena's Chameli, shared a heartfelt tribute on his X account. He remembered the late producer who also supported his 2003 political drama, Hazaaron Khwahishen Aisi. “Pritish Nandy changed my life. Only he could have made Hazaaron Khwahishen Aisi. He taught me so much. I’m really sorry, Pritish Da, that I couldn’t come up with a sequel idea,” Sudhir expressed.

Sanjay Dutt, who appeared in Sanjay Gupta's 2002 action flick Kaante and Leena Yadav's 2005 psychological film Shabd, both produced by Nandy, also took to X to share a black-and-white photo of Pritish. He wrote, “A true creative genius and a kind soul, you will be missed, sir. #PritishNandy 🙏.”

Pushpa 2: The Rule Reloaded Release Delayed: New Date Announced

On January 7, the team behind Pushpa 2: The Rule, featuring Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna, caught fans off guard with a surprise announcement. They let everyone know that a Reloaded Version of the film would hit theaters on January 11, complete with an extra 20 minutes of footage. However, it seems fans will need to hold off a bit longer to see those additional scenes in cinemas. Recently, the creators issued an updated announcement with a new release date.

Pushpa 2 hit theaters on December 5, 2024, and it’s been smashing box office records ever since. The film has raked in a whopping Rs 1800 crore worldwide, getting close to Aamir Khan's Dangal. With an extra 20 minutes added to this blockbuster, it’s bound to see a nice boost at the box office. On January 8, Mythri Movie Makers announced on social media that the release would be delayed, citing 'technical delays' as the reason.

Their post stated, "Due to technical delays in processing the content, the reloaded version of Pushpa 2 The Rule is delayed. It will now screen in theaters from January 17th instead of January 11th as originally planned. Happy Sankranthi, everyone! The extended version will be worth the wait with more moments that will have you cheering. The wildfire just got even hotter." They also shared the news on X, saying, "#Pushpa2Reloaded in cinemas from January 17th."

On Tuesday, Mid-Day shared that Triptii won’t be starring in Aashiqui 3 anymore. A source mentioned, “Triptii was really looking forward to leading the romance, but that’s off the table now. Aashiqui 3 is caught up in a [title]-related issue, so it’s been put on hold indefinitely.” The report suggested that Triptii chose to step away from the project because of the shooting delays.

Retro Release Date Announced: Suriya's Action-Packed Love Story Hits Theatres on May 1, 2025

Recently, the producers of Suriya's forthcoming film directed by Karthik Subbaraj revealed the title as Retro. On Wednesday, January 8, in an unexpected gesture for fans, the team disclosed the release date for the Suriya-led project. Retro is scheduled to premiere in theatres on May 1.

Karthik Subbaraj has partnered with Suriya for a film entitled Retro, marking their inaugural collaboration. This project is described as an action-infused love story, and the production team has officially announced the eagerly awaited release date. Indeed, Retro is scheduled to premiere in theatres on May 1.

In addition to Suriya, the cast includes Pooja Hegde, Jayaram, Joju George, Karunakaran, Nassar, and Prakash Raj, among others. Shriya Saran is set to make a special cameo appearance in a dance sequence. Previously, the production team unveiled the title teaser, which presents a blend of heartfelt romance and action-packed sequences.

Retro is being produced by Stone Bench Films and 2D Entertainment, with music composed by Santhosh Narayanan, a frequent collaborator of Karthik Subbaraj. The cinematography is managed by Shreyaas Krishna, while the editing is overseen by Mohammed Shafique Ali. The art direction is handled by Jacki and Mayapandi.
